Google Buzz is NOT the new Facebook

This past week, Google has rolled out what is assumed to be the "Facebook/Twitter Killer."

Why not chat online, update your minute-by-minute daily status, make plans with friends, send and receive emails, all while balancing an obsolete paper phone book on top of your head with your Google email (Gmail) account? I can tell you why. If you use your Gmail account for your personal small business, like I do, then you don't want to lose business.

Before you get all comfortable and start buzzing comment postings about how much you hate that your co-worker wears too much body fragrance, or that your next-door neighbor should have been "tested," make sure to check your Google account's privacy settings.

You probably are mixing business and pleasure and not even know it.

UPDATE 2.12.10 - After several complaints of privacy issues, Google has announced Thursday that it will be made easier to hide the lists of followers and followees of your Gmail Buzz account. It will also be made easier to block specific people from following your Buzz updates.

Google screws bloggers hard!

I just found out that Google is forcing me to move my domain to Google servers and give them control over all my content. WTF? I am annoyed, and so are most other advanced bloggers. Bloggers have only a few weeks to move ALL of their content. This was the last straw for me, no google search in my future and I am looking for a replacement for the google analytics program.

By the way, can anyone recommend good blogging software? Blogger doesn't want us anymore.

Read more about the "explanation" and the complaints that are pouring in.
